The Challenge

A commercial fishing operator needed to extend the range of two vessels to reach distant Bering Sea fishing grounds — with only three weeks before the season opened. The tanks had to fit inside existing ballast tanks, survive constant salt-water and diesel exposure, and be fabricated from a novel coated fabric never before field-tested in such demanding conditions.

Our Solution

SaintX engineered six custom RF-welded fuel bladders — two 26,000-gallon tanks for one vessel and four 13,000-gallon tanks for the other — each uniquely shaped to its vessel's fill and discharge ports. Using a new salt-water and fuel-compatible coated fabric, the team designed, built, and installed all six tanks within the 21-day window and coordinated approval with the U.S. Coast Guard, then supported Dutch Harbor operations.
